vCharlie wrote Okay so I've been to a few place and it's like everyone loses thier shit over British accents like American girl especially I don't understand why people go weird about it, when ever I go go America I get asked if I'm actually british or putting it on? Like I don't know if it's just me or what but it don't get what so fascinating about accents haha

There are literally too many accents to be counted in Britain because they are constantly changing, evolving into one another and forming different accents, so which are you talking about? A couple of people said they wished they had an accent, everyone has an accent. If you say words you have an accent, unless you're mute.

I'm from Northern England and I hate the accents of people from Liverpool, but I love the accents of people from Northern Ireland and some of the posher areas of London.
Most people outside of Britain only get exposed to RP English [Received Pronunciation] because it is the accent of news readers in the BBC and other news outlets, and it's also how the Queen speaks.

My point is you're all talking about meeting different people with British accents, but you could all be talking about entirely different sounding accents.

Im from Newcastle, dating someone from Kentucky. Weve been together for 2 years now and Ive visiited KY multiple times. She does find it charming (Accent) yet I HAVE A NEWCASTLE ACCENT, POSSIBLY THE WORST ACCENT IN ENGLAND. I have no idea how the Americans love it so much, its the same with her friends and family.

Cockney or Scouse is 10x worse! I think the Geordie accent is cool, i have a Geordie friend and his accent is great.

We don't have just one accent through which is weird but im guessing they love the cockney accent (london) but for me i live in bristol so i sound like a farmer and i don't think USA girls would like that.
