The hubris it must take to suggest that something was put on this Earth just for you to slaughter and eat it is something I will never understand.
Most people just accept that animals eat other animals and that's how things are, but they don't say that there is a meaning behind it all - and that the meaning is for humans to thrive while everything else suffers.

This makes me feel bad but I'll never stop eating meat.

I have also read that some regular supermarkets are selling halal rather than the regular butchered meat, this really makes me sick because i'm eating an animal that has been put through this. To be honest i do not expect this to be happening in civilized countries, it should be banned, but the government will never pay attention to stuff like this.

Yes but when they're still alive is halal, normally the animal is killed in a civil way before doing this.

Whether it's the norm or not I find it disgusting that religious rights are held in higher regard than animal rights.
If Muslims want their meat prepared a certain way according to the Quran - which involves the suffering of the animal - then they shouldn't eat that meat.
That would be the moral thing for them to do.
