I tried to be a vegetarian a few times because of those videos, but It never works.
I've given up most meat, but I still eat some of it.
Those videos are sickening though.

Ethics wrote This does not turn me off eating meat. It turns me off eating meat from factory farming.
I used to work/live on a farm and this is not how it is done here.
Thank you. Now maybe if the rest of these city slickers get understand that and see how the other 90% of farmers do it, they might get to see the reality from life, not PETA.

I have worked in both factory farming and as a Butcher so have seen pretty much everything in that video and more with my own eyes and one thing that learned is that life is a means to an end, Human or animal.

002 wrote No, I wouldn't. I go hunting to help feed the family and sometimes it is the same process. I shot a deer, it went down and it took us a good 30 minutes to get there. We got there and it was still alive.
What that video shows is nature on an assembly line per say. Look at nature, it's a lot worse. Do you honestly think that a chicken being strung up and having its neck slit is worse than a bear mauling a deer to death?
All in all, it's nature. Survival of the fittest. We have to feed our over populated human species so we do what we can. I think there are too many people here that would rather believe that their eggs and chicken breasts grow on trees and that chickens don't actually die or get farmed for them.
I'm not against you guys going vegetarian or vegan, it just means bacon might get a little cheaper for me. Just look at how it would be without the process of how we currently get our food.
Yeah, I don't mind if they are treated well and then killed, not as soon as there born by being held by their back two feet then smashed head first to the ground to kill something, but if this was your pet dog or something, it would be a different story.

Well.. I was eating some chicken and just threw it out. Not sure if it was because this just grossed me out or the fact that I felt bad for the animal.

The killing or harming of animals makes me ill why or how someone could do that is sickening, especially to dogs for some reason because they're a mans best friend
Sadly it wouldnt turn me vegetarian but it'll put me in a bad mood and makes me ill

My family owns a Meat business and I have never seen any of the ways in the video ever been done. I would never be a vegetarian unless I was forced to. I love eating meat.
