No idea man, In the UK the minimum wage for over 18 is almost double that of under 18. So it's far cheaper for employers to hire under 18s because they don't have to pay them as much. I made money by trading on the internet when I was 17, it wasn't hard. Just think outside of the box.

By working under the table. I've built 3 decks, there is no way of proving this but I can still write that I have experience building decks, mowing lawns, graveling driveways, etc. Even though this may have nothing to do with the job I'm applying for, they just want to see you have some sort of previous job experience legal or otherwise. Usually on an application they will ask what experience you have, who you did the job for, and their phone number. A person like me might write the following:
Rough construction building a deck - John Doe - 555-555-5555

A person with legal experience might write the following:
Cashier - McDonald's - 555-555-5555

Again, these jobs don't have to have anything to do with the job you're applying for. Say you're applying to be a sales rep and it asks what experience you have. You still write that you were a cashier at McDonald's, built a deck, roofed a house, what ever. They just want to see that you aren't a job virgin essentially. If you are like me and only have under the table experience, it would be in your best interest to talk to who ever you're putting down to make sure they are OK with getting a phone call asking about you. For example, they might call John Doe at 555-555-5555 to see if I actually worked for him and how I was as a worker.

I personally wouldn't put down that I mowed my grandparents lawn because that's family, but if they have a different last name than yours, you should be good. If I only did 1 job for a person, I wouldn't put them down as experience, if I was there for a while, I'd put them down. Even though roofing a house, graveling a drive way, building a deck, etc. is only one job, you might still be there for over a week. It's not a lot of time, but that's all it can be.

Depends on the job, but a lot of times it is because kids are immature and most employees don't want to hire immature kids when they can hire 18 yearolds that are a lot more mature and trustworthy.

Yeah, I know the pain waiting for the job because you know the town/city you like in the job is not what you like to enjoy to stay active your job for long as possible. It's just, just grind to get the money and even though you don't like the job. It's money at the end of the day.

I honestly don't find it that hard to get a job here in the United States(No idea where you're from) but a lot of places hire. You don't need a shiny application, but if you're well known by some of the staff and they like you they can stack your application right on the top and get you hired the next day.

All you can really do is keep throwing in applications to places and cross your fingers and hope they call you for an interview. Then it's all up to you nailing it and showing confidence that you want the job more than the others.

Its quite annoying how most companies want you to have like years of previous experience and you are like looking for a first job.

From the time I turned 15 I never went a day without having a job until I turned 20. You may have to humble yourself and find a job that kind of sucks. It may be awful, but it pays!
