So i may not know the whole story, but the OP made this sound as if the whole ordeal was consensual. There really was no crime committed. But if this was the other way around(male teacher and female student) then this would be a whole other situation(not that it should). If two people both want to have sex, then why should they not be able to? Now, if it was a case of rape, then yes, she should be charged with rape. But it was not.

The point of the age of consent is that you cannot give consent until you reach that age.
Sex without consent is rape.

SMH. The system is so messed up. You should not have to be a certain age to give consent. I know some 12-13 year olds who have more commen sense and are over all, more mature then some adults.

That is a debatable issue, absolutely. I was just speaking in terms of the law as it stands now.

And this is what would open the door to pedophilia being legal or at least give loopholes to pedophiles. The teacher should have known better than to mess with an underage kid. I would think "statutory rape" would fit this situation. Taking advantage of a kid like that is disgusting, especially when you a teacher and should know better. If they liked each other, they could wait until the student was of age to give consent. The teacher is an adult. She should be responsible and act like one.

Eli wrote I heard about this a few days back. But most of the time when I see things like this most of the boys I went to school would say something like " where was this teacher when I was in school " which is probably the same thing most boys are thinking. It's weird how this kind of stuff works like when it's a young boy with a older female he's gets props but when it's a young female with a older man people get mad and want to kick his ass. As on how I feel about it I wish these kind of teachers were around when I was in school too. I can only dream to be as lucky this kid.
this generation is all double standards, and sexisam its ridicilous but its the world we live in its okay for a guy to have sex with alot of girls he gets respect, if a girl does it shes called a slut and whore, and shamed, we will never have 100% Gender equality idk why feminist keep trying lmao

Because it is better to keep trying. If you try, you have a chance of fixing it. You don't have that chance if you don't try. Even if there is never true equality, trying keeps it in a better place than it would be if people stopped trying. Equality would become even more of an issue if no one tried changing the "impossible."

How is this opening the door pedophiles? How did the teacher mess with a underage kid? There is no such thing as a underage kid. How did the teacher take advantage of the kid? How was she irresponsible? She should not have to wait for the kid to be "of age". To be honest, the kid probably took advantage of the teacher. I mean, If that women was my teacher, then i would try to do the same thing(except get her pregnant). An adult is just someone who is fully grown, there is no specific way that they act.

Underage -- too young to engage legally in a particular activity, especially drinking alcohol or having sex. Just because you don't want to acknowledge it doesn't mean there is no such thing as it. Do you realize how hard it is to convict someone of rape? Pedophiles would get away with raping a child due to similar arguments. Children are usually immature. They do stupid things and lie about stupid things. It would be easy to argue that the kid was making the whole story up and had consented. Human trafficking would also thrive a lot better I am sure. The teacher should wait, yes, just as everyone has to wait to get a car or to drink. She is a teacher. If she doesn't know basic laws, then that is on her. Kids do stupid stuff because they are beginning to be hit with hormones. It is on the adult to control themselves and to teach the kid why it is wrong. Also, there is a power dynamic there. If a teacher likes a student, they could get better grades if the teacher is terrible at their job. They could use that power to coerce the student. It's all disgusting. Every way you look at it. An adult of power having relations with a kid who is barely out of elementary school. Try to argue how that is ok if you want, but I think society has agreed that is not the case. Wait was all she had to do.

Wait was all she had to do. When i said there is no such thing as a underage kid, i literally meant there is no such thing as a underage kid(meaning there is no kid that is the age of being a kid). It is fairly hard to convict someone of true rape. The justice system should not rely on "he said, she said" type of situations, someone should be convicted because of evidence. Please explain how human trafficking would also thrive a lot better. Sex is very different than a car or drinking, so that is irrelevant. Her being a teacher has nothing to do with knowing basic laws. And the laws should not be what they are. The adult should not have to teach children that sex at their age is wrong, because it should not be. You are jumping to conclusions. There is nothing disgusting about it. Many of your arguments are assumptions. I'm tired of arguing.
