Guns should be sold to only people with a clean background record, people who have no prior conflicts with police.

Dont mind normal people having them for protection ... BUT when police abuse them and shoot people that really f*cks me off, i know they do it protect people but they shouldn't shoot people who are not armed.

Statistics from 2014 (Most recent available) show that just over 0.01% of the population were fatally injured by firearms during that year (33,736 deaths - 318 million pop.)

Deaths by RTC (Road Traffic Collision) were 33,804, only 68 more deaths than caused by firearms.

As we all know, 2016 has been a very poor year in terms of firearms incidents in the United States so whilst those figures are almost 2 years old, they're the most accurate currently available but i would expect an increase on those numbers when the 2016 statistics are released, though the increase in population to around 324 million will likely offset the inevitable increase in firearms related deaths.

Going off the statistic of the 30k being fatally injured, I remember that almost 20k of those were suicide. If guns were no more then there'd be a lot more people ODing on drugs, or jumping off bridges. When I said 10k, I was referring to those being shot that "shouldn't" in mass shootings, drive by gang shootings, home invasion self defense shootings, etc.

I love guns, just got to be safe with them.

You gotta know how to use them and handle them in situations. Guns are fun to shoot (practice wise) ..but the people who abuse their gun power is a different story.

Guns dont kill people. People kill people. Someone has to be at the trigger to shoot someone. Guns are harmless. Its just idiots/criminals who get them and dont know what theyre doing and or have a mindset of hurting others. I have about 4 guns (2 shotguns, and rifle and an ar15)

Because screw the hunter that puts meat on the table with a gun, or screw the animal that now has to suffer with a damn arrow in its side instead of dieing instantly because somehow human beings are incapable of the power of guns.

Because screw the guy walking down the street doing no harm minding his own business when he gets jumped by a stranger who either has a gun, knife, or made a crude knife, I hope that guy can protect himself!

Because screw the campers who use pocket knives as compact tools to make tent stakes or gut a fish (hate to break it to ya, fixed blades don't cut it in the camping world).

Because screw the hikers in the pacific Northwest who carry guns and knives to protect themselves against the occasional bear / cougar encounter, hopefully bear spray is enough! Oh wait, bear spray can do some SERIOUS harm on a human so take that shit away too. Forks can stab, so I guess I hope you can protect yourself with a damn spoon,

What it comes down to is stupid self entitles little kids who get trophies for participating even though they lost every game can't handle it when Cindy doesn't want to go out with them, or the slightest of bad things happen to them so they take it out on others.
