Zombae wrote So as you guys know 4 days ago the engine on my Buick went that I had for almost 3 years as my starter car. My family has decided it's time to replace the car rather than continue to put money into it. My family refuses to allow anything non-american in their driveway lol So I'm torn between a Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro all of which are cars I have an appreciation for. I would also appreciate it if you guys can make some recommendations based on experience or what you guys know about each car. Maybe just list some pros and cons and what you like or dislike to help me out, thanks guys

Ganga wrote First off all 3 of these cars depending on what engine, model, color, etc will have high insurance payments and if you are a younger male that also makes your insurance go higher, so I would call your insurance and compare rates on all 3 models you're interested in that way you know exactly what youll be paying for insurance. Also depends on what year of those cars your looking at, and brand new or used?

Me personally, would not purchase a ford. It would be between the dodge and Chevy. My decision between those two would depend on what model/year you're interested in. You can't ever go wrong with a Chevy I'll tell you that.. I own a 2016 impala ltz and I love the car hasn't given me a single problem what so ever. Challenger is also a good car but it would really depend on the year/model if I was the one purchasing. Personally I would not purchase a v6 model of any of these cars only the v8 models interest me. Good luck to you in finding the right vehicle! Feel free to pm me if you'd like to give me a bit more info and I can help you out more.
my insurance drops this year and why not a ford?

If he says get a V8 over a V6, the reason he says not to get a Ford is because he's a Chevy fan boy. No one on this forum has enough knowledge or has had enough cars to be able to say X brand is good or bad. All they can say is they had luck with X brand X model X year. A 2016 Impala is not a 2017 Camaro and would not be driven the same.

For one, please do not call me a "boy" I'm 22 years old. For two, I ain't no Chevy fan boy. I simply gave him my opinion on what he asked, nothing more... yes I've owned a total of 8 Chevrolets in my time of driving one of which I ran all the way up to 325k miles so you can understand why I may be bias to a Chevy. Also, i do not see the point in buying a muscle car to get a v6 engine, again my opinion. Now a v8 does not suit everyones budget or preference, I understand that... this is just MY opinion..

Hi boy

And as statistics show the v6 of any of those vehicles are bought more then their v8 counterpart

Cheaper insurance, dodge offers awd for their v6 versions, just as good because most people dont care for 400-700hp which is where all those cars fall into for the v8, plus maintenance is a lot cheaper, and it goes on so there is a point to then, you're just being a lil bit of a fan boy

Hi girl

And who was speaking on statistics? Like I said I was stating my opinion that I would not buy a v6 muscle car. I also said some people do not prefer a v8 engine so how am I being a fan boy by stating my opinion? Lmao

I'm just saying you said there was no point, but there is

I drive a 2014 charger with a 3.6L Pentastar and it goes fairly well for a v6

What do you want me to call you? Fan man? No, the term is fan boy, don't get so easily offended.

8 Chevys in 325k miles? Doesn't sound like reliability to me, but that's besides the point. The point is you said you would not purchase a Ford, but you are only letting us know you have experience with Chevy. That's like saying I don't like salad but I've never ate it. By saying you would not buy a car and have no experience with the brand, but then say you love X brand, that kinda makes you a fan boy.

As far as V6 vs V8, look at the old V8s. They make less HP than a modern day V6. Hell my brothers 2013 V6 Mustang only makes 5 less HP than my old '99 F-350 V-10! They make a ton of power, and they weigh less which is why you are seeing the V6 in high performance cars like the Ford GT.

Wow Ganga, real mature in that PM then blocking me.

OP, i would just test drive them all and see what you think. Ford and Chevy codesigned a 10 speed auto that is going in some Camaros, might be worth waiting for that too.

Eventually V8's will be non existent, dodge is already making plans to change from their hemi to a turbo'd v6, but a lot of that is also because of the epa
