Yup exactly
It's already causing controversy. It was on the news this morning.

This shouldn't be a thing... kids make snaps with friends all the time, and sense it's default set as public if someone has your snap, it's literally a snatch and grab.. They need to remove this or do something, because having this auto-enabled and no way to disable * not that I know off * is stupid, this is going to cause a lot of bad things for Snapchat in the future, if not... very soon.

This WILL be controversial, no matter how people look at it.
I can imagine Snapchat removing it in the near future. I consider it a dangerous addition to an app that's used by millions.

There is an option to turn it off, you just set it to "Ghost Mode" or something like that. I still haven't even found where this map is on my Snapchat app.

You can use ghost mode to hide your location; but still, a naive 12/13 year old wouldn't think twice about keeping their location turned off.
I give it no less than 24 more hours until a child is kidnapped, raped or murdered.

This shouldn't be a thing & if it was, you should be able to have the option to show your Location before you send a snap.
IT SHOULD NOT BE DEFAULT REGARDLESS.
It shouldn't be a thing regardless.
but they could have thought about it some more before making it public.. If I was to do it, like I said, I'd make it a personal option on every snap you take, once you snap the picture should have a icon / button to show location for that snap and that snap only.

Just turn your location services off on snapchat in your settings and you'll be good to go.

VLC wroteNot just girls who cheat lad, I know a few guys that have been busted by this update lmaoXeSolarrr wrote I completely agree, absolutely ridiculous, don't see why Snapchat would even consider making it a part of Snapchat
It's gonna be the ender of relationships for them sluts around these days.
Adding on to the the topic, I'll be the one to go ahead and say I like the update. Can see who's about in town if you want to meet up.
It should be down to the parents to make sure that children aren't using the feature/app as It is a danger to the younger audicence with how precise it is.

All Snapchat does is drain your battery, I know let's add more features! Smart move.
