Yes we know we haven't won anything for eight years. You guys would be fighting for europa without your Russian mob man's money.

We qualified for the Champions League a year before Abramovich bought the club. Unlucky. ;)

So? You only broke into the Champions League once in the 4 years prior. If Abramovich didn't come along who knows where you may be.

Such a stupid thing to say... If Ozil didn't come along, who knows where you may be?

Probably in the same place we've been for the past 16 years. In and amongst the top four.

If things didn't happen in every clubs past, things would be different. That's just plain obvious. It's the same for every single club... So why bother posting 1 specific instance of it?

... because it's not like it's a little instance. It was partially responsible for the way the Premier League is now - money oriented.

And i'm sure there was similar instances 100 years ago, that effected the league majorly and dictates how it is now

How did you work that out? The way I see it, all the money did was bring a lot more world-class players to the premier league and made it a much more entertaining league

With Abramovich willing to pay ludicrous amounts for players and wages, other teams had to do the same to ensure they would bring the best talent to their club. The rich get better, whilst the poor get worse. Before Abramovich came along, teams like Blackburn and Leeds could compete for the title. Now with limited resources, lower-table teams can't compete for the better players making it ever so harder to compete for the title. The only way a team like West Brom could ever compete for the title now is if a big investor comes along to buy the club and is willing to pay for expensive players and ridiculous wages.

If one rich guy wants to pay money to watch entertaining football and supply entertaining football for the fans, how is that a negative effect on the league? Most clubs are businesses, they simply don't care about entertainment or anything of the sort

I don't deny that it's not entertaining, because I love watching the big teams with the best players. I'm just speaking on behalf of all the lower-end teams that are unable to compete because, well partially because of Abramovich. That's how it's had a negative influence on the league.

I would enjoy this football discussion if you produced a decent quality argument
Instead you're trashing the Chelsea fan base when that's all you Arsenal fans do is bragging about being top of the league 10 games in.. By the end, you won't be top

You've hit a bit of good form... Nothing major

And yes, most of our success has come down to Abramovich. But how on earth were we meant to break into the the top four permanently otherwise.. Please don't suggest we bread a youth team with little budget.. Because Arsenal, United, and Liverpool (at the time) were in a position of power. No team could do serious damage to the top teams because you guys would pinch their best youth players, leading to a loop of development. The only way we could break into the top four was through financial investment

We were potentially going to get administrated, we deserved an owner to give us a chance at financial security

Those who insult us about Abramovich are those fearful of our success..
Over the last ten years, most successful team in England (on trophies). And proud.

As it occurred to anyone that Atletico Madrid could be quite a threat in the champions league? I think they could go far.

Arsenal has been in the top 4 for 16 years, only spending 10 million pounds net over the last ten years. Chelsea and Man City are in power now and look where we are. Only reason we are bragging being top of the table is because you guys keep saying we belong in 4th and we haven't proven ourselves yet.

I'm hoping they do, they've been amazing this year and Diego Costa is on fire.
We couldn't even beat them in the Supercup. They beat Real Madrid in the final of the Copa del Rey last time and beat them again this year. They definitely have a chance.
