Yeah i had to investigate. Car seems a little much for him if his age is 19.

yeh haha, like most people on this thread that are like 16 17 saying they drive 300bhp+ cars

No offense but 300+hp isn't anything special..

My truck is 300 stock.

300hp is a lot different in a car then a truck bud. Especially if its a stick.

What do you mean it's a lot different? Horsepower is horsepower. The only real difference here is the weight.

I'll still smoke the little rice rockets on the roads with an extra 3000 lbs lol.

No, what you're really looking at is torque, a 300hp chevy 1500 will not beat a 300hp sti. My Duramax MIGHT be able to keep up with an EFI tune, but i'm not even sure at that.

it's not a 1500.

If your dirtymax cant keep up with efi, you have the wrong tune. js.

I know nothing about trucks. So what is the best truck under $12k? I might get a truck next so I need some input!
Thanks.

Depends on the motor and if you're going to be towing trailers and stuff.

You can get any gmc (chevy)/ford/dodge 2500 that's about 10 years old and a GAS Motor for under 12.

Just from personal experience, i'd go with gm. body's dont rot like dodge/ford, have good engines that aren't notorious for gas guzzling (hemi), or breaking (any ford, haha.) And they're just a proven truck.

if you're going to be towing regularly, definitly get a 2500. If just using it for other things where you wont need to tow 12k lbs around, just get a 1500.

edit: here's a good place to start. truckpaper.com/list/list.aspx?bca...rch=Search

Thanks WJL. I won't be towing at all or very little. I also would like to go in the woods ect. with the truck(If I decide to get one). It will mainly be a daily driver and very rarely putting any strain on it.

Than any gm/chevy 1500 with a 5.3 vortec v8 would do just fine. Can get them (depending on features like extended cab, leather seats, etc.) for around 6-8k.
