In all seriousness though James Wilson is bang average, there are better players that are a similar age to him yet 99% of United fans think he's the next big thing

I just really haven't seen anything to suggest Wilson warrants playing for United. Would bet a lot of money he ends up with the likes of Jay Spearing in the champ in a few years.

I am willing to counter it

And FYI, dont be so cynical and harsh and seemingly hoping he turns out a poor player simply because he's a United player... A young raw English talent could be the future of the country...

Heard some glowing reviews of Wilson before he got called up to the first team.

Since then, he's done very very little to set the world alight. He could well come good, I don't really watch enough United games to have an educated view point but I'd focus on sorting out Januzaj's progress because he seems a lot more talented.

He scored a goal against QPR and a goal against Cambridge, suddenly he's the 'next big thing'. Happens with any English player. He's not played enough this season to progress fully and he isn't going to get any better when you look at the United attack force, he's never going to earn his place in that... He needs to go out on loan for a few seasons to get game time & to prove himself.

I'm not being deliberately cynical because he is a United player - you should know me enough by now to know I don't do that - I wouldn't care if he was an Arsenal player - the reality is, he hasn't shown in any sense that he is a wonderkid, and the next new talent for England. Its not like I've been parading the forums saying "wow, this Chupa Akpom guy is something special".

I'd be happy to be proven wrong obviously, but I don't see him breaking into the England squad with the young talent we already have, and he's be fighting with Sturridge for a place at ST for a long time.
