Poor game from United? I thought they played well, they were pressing well, had majority possession. First 20 minutes, United dominated open play. Passing play was fluent. Arsenal got lucky with an open goal and bad defensive errors.
Once Arsenal got the lead, they packed the defence, began to play with an extremely defensive and rigid play. Every man behind the ball.

I have absolutely no idea what game you've been watching, I actually cannot wait for the stats to be released so I can show you this has not been the case. De Gea has also kept you in it in this second half...

EDIT: Just seen some basic BBC stats - Arsenal and Utd both at 10 shots, Arsenal 8 on target, Utd 5 on target. Both on the same amount of corners. These were all that have been given so far. Only thing Utd dominated was possession.

I don't support United, I'm a Peterborough fan. I have been watching the same game as you, I'm giving an unbiased viewpoint.

I thought United played well, a much better game than the performance against Preston and Swansea.

My brother and dad both have season tickets at Manchester United. I decided to support my local team and get Peterborough FC tickets... Because I'm not a glory supporter.

Firstly, I am more than happy to go through with you the reasons why that wasn't the best performance from Arsenal, I'm not giving you a biased view, this comes from years and years of watching football and watching analysis closely. I think all you need to do is listen to the pundits, and see the analysis, both Roy Keane and Peter Schmeichel saying how disappointed they were in that performance.. So if you don't believe me, listen to professionals who are big utd supporters.

Also, I really hope that isn't a dig at people who support premier league clubs...

Roy Keane hates United, he surprisingly has an open hatred for the club, when they offloaded him to Celtic. Just because they played the game to a high standard, doesn't mean they have a more enlightened viewpoint than you or me. I have an actual qualification in sports (GCSE & A Level Physical Education). So, I've been educated to a high standard of the way of multiple sports, we did a whole section (3 months) of sports analysis, I've done actual analysis' of Aviva Rugby Championship matches for local newpapers. I know they've played to the game, but some pundits (like Robbie Savage) don't have a clue what they're on about.

1. Roy Keane is a HUGE United fan. Always will be. You have fallen into the trap of thinking he hates United, because he openly hates Sir Alex.

2. Did you actually just quote PE GCSE and A Level at me! I have A levels in Maths, French and Economics - there, we both have now made equally immaterial and irrelevant statements, don't we feel silly! To not be a massive ****, I am going to spare you what was thought of the kids that did PE A Level at my old school.. However, please do not act as if your opinion is more valid on the back of having those qualifications as they are less than useless.

3. I haven't even mentioned Robbie Savage, however, lets carry on under the hypothesis that I had.. He is a professional footballer, who has been employed by one of the biggest broadcasters in the world to analyse football matches. Do you not think he would've had to go through rigorous testing and interviewing to make sure he was capable? Sometimes we forget that we, as fans should listen to people who have an actual idea more..

Here's a quote from Roy Keane on the subject of Manchester United fans "To be honest I never cared much for Manchester United fans. For the most part they're clueless glory hunters, trying to add a sense of accomplishment to their own pointless lives by jumping on the bandwagon of a successful sporting club, in many cases on the other side of the world".

I could also rant on about what was thought of the kids that did Maths A Level at my old school. Not everyone who does PE is a ****.

Since when has a hatred for fans a hatred of the club. He openly talks about how he wants United to do well, and would love to see them return to their former glory. Do you not listen to a word the man says in his post match analysis and pretty much all his punditry?

Personally, I'm not sure why you felt you had to take a day to go find another meaningless piece of trivia that doesn't help your argument whatsoever.

P.S - Regarding saying not everyone who does P.E. is a **** - if you had read carefully, I didn't call you a **** for doing P.E, I said I'd not tell you what most people at my school thought of the P.E. kids at the risk of being a ****. However, please do tell me what you guys thought of people who did maths! It oughta provide me with a few laughs!

Brilliant, but did you play for and captain Tottenham...? I think this is a bit different to me saying, "Hey I don't mind Palace, I hope they do well!"

If he has this view on the fans, he must have an even bitter viewpoint on the infrastructure of the club, even more so now because Sir Ferguson is apart of it.

No, but I have a good friend in Tottenham's academy.

Are you referring to the FA cup game?

I am. If we can continue to perform to the standard shown last night bar defensive errors, I really feel we can get top 4. We actually attacked, something we havent done all season!

Yeah the team as definitely more forward thinking.

Bar the diving Di Maria played quite well. That ball for Rooney was sublime. Rooney was showin how again we can't play without him, played again very very well.

Yep I think if Rooney played up front from the beginning of the season he'd be going for the golden boot.

LOL

What have i just read....
\

Rooney - sitting in midfield and has 10 goals.
Costa - poacher and has 17 goals

So to say that Rooney who was 20-30 goal a season striker wouldn't be competing for the golden boot is absolutely hilarious. Do yourself a favour completedesigns think before you type, as you look silly.

Well Keano hates the fans as well and in most peoples eyes the fans are what makes the club.

Don't blame him for hating some Man United fans, what SAF done to him was inexcusable and a fair bit of the United fans have slated Keane because of his rivalry with SAF. The man single handily beat Juventus in the Semi's of the CL when you's won the treble and SAF treated him like shit.

That's between them, United fans were gonna obviously take a side and they weren't going to go agains't Alex Ferguson were they.

Well if it's between them surely United fans shouldn't pick a side.

Also why wouldn't they go against SAF? He left United in a shambles and before you say the team he left won the league the year before that was only because the other teams around united were a shambles too, Mancini was a disaster that season for City, same with Arsenal and Chelsea. He didn't reinvest in the side and left because he knew once Mourinho went back to chelsea ( who destroyed him when he was in the PL ) and Arsenal, City and Liverpool got their act together he wouldn't win another league title.

Yes I also agree the team he left was a bad team. But not winning the league again? That's the most outrageous, pathetic and completely wrong thing I've heard in the Football lounge. If you honestly believe he wouldn't of won again then you no absolutely nothing about Alex Ferguson, United and generally just football.

How many years do you think SAF could of stayed at United to win the league? Fact of the matter is whenever Jose Mourinho ( who I hate btw ) was in the league Chelsea won the league comfortably, again this season. Man United wouldn't of won it last year, Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea were far much stronger than the year before. Chelsea are walking away with it this season.

Man United's team needed a lot of reinvestment, he saw that and left to go out on a high, it's only people with no football knowledge that doesn't acknowledge that.

He told RVP that he would stay another 3 years when he signed him and retired after one season when he won the league, ask yourself why he done that?

Watch these 2 videos, this guy predicted SAF would retire before he did, for the same reasons I mentioned, he predicted Man United would decline and Moyes would of taken the shit for SAF's piss poor team because people would say "they were champions when SAF was in charge", SAF knew what he was doing.

The quote took me 10 seconds to find. Type in "Roy Keane on Manchester United fans" and the quote is the first thing that appears.

There's a difference between wishing a team well and supporting them. For example, I like Tottenham, and wish that they do well domestically and in Europe. I like West Brom, I hope that they do well domestically. I don't support either of the clubs, I only wish for the best.

The maths students were rather strange. I don't think I would be allowed to say, some of the things that happened are rather vulgar.

Well you see this isn't a debate about what Keane thinks about the fans. So I'm not sure why you're typing 'Roy Keane on Manchester United fans" into any search engine.

Completely invalid statement. He may wish the fans would change their views/behaviour or whatever he dislikes about them, and he may not want Sir Alex working within the club, however, what happens when SAF is eventually gone? Will he still supposedly hate United? No. Just please get your head round the fact that you can dislike features of a club while still supporting the club as a team.

Valid statement. Let's not forget that the club completely abandoned him, you can't just disregard memories/events like that, even if Sir Ferguson leaves, he'll still dislike certain aspects of the club; the fans, the infrastructure. He may have a mutual respect for the club, I certainly believe that he does not support the club. I've read his autobiography, he has an open hatred for most aspects of the club. The fans don't even want him affiliated with the club anymore, after the rude remarks he made of them.

Well we've hit an impasse, so rather than carrying on in a futile manner.. anyone see the Schalke/Madrid match?
