Looking to build a gaming PC for one of my buddies. Mainly playing Fortnite.

**Dont need windows

Price: $1,000 USD
Peripherals: Keyboard & Mouse
Graphics: NVIDIA
CPU: Intel i7
Ram: 16GB
Resolution: 2560x1440

Any recommendations would be helpful. Thank you.

This is what I came up with. $200 over budget - pcpartpicker.com/list/tX4wnH

Thus is what I came up with, it's just about $10 over $1,000 and the 240mm aio is unnecessary, I just included it because you may want to over clock and air coolers that will actually move the heat are expensive.

Thank you, I'll take a look at it.

No overclocking

Well, which? Also 60Hz or 120/144Hz? Whatever monitor(s) you're using will dictate which components make sense.

What else will the system be used for? Fortnite isn't exactly hard to run, and you definitely don't need an i7 for it.

The i7-8700 is a locked CPU, he wouldn't be doing any overclocking with an i7-8700.

Then I'll re-iterate;
"Whatever monitor(s) you're using will dictate which components make sense"
So you've already got a single 1440p monitor? What refresh rate?

Is the system literally only going to be used for Fortnite?

Can we get an idea of what else the system will be used for, if anything?
