OhDiegoCosta wrote Ridiculous, it's asking for failure with the premiums on British talent these days, especially when the bank of talent aren't particularly brilliant. That's exactly the idea of it. There are no English young players coming through, so having the quota remain will encourage teams to bring through their own youth players & to force some good English talent out. There are hardly any English players that are regulars in the BPL anymore... |

United do alright, we had 6 english in our last starting XI. That being said I only like a few of em |

Love this article , Shows that Lamps beats gerrard in almost every stat (And this is a article made to recognize gerrads career , A one on FLs career would show alot more stats he wins at) |

I am pro-Lampard in the Lampard/Gerrard debate but am willing to concede that Gerrard's range of passing was/is far superior to Lampard's.
Other than that, Lampard is probably the better player |

Lampard is one of the greatest midfielders our generation will witness, incredible as well since he was English.
Gerrard is also a great, he was more a great leader than an amazing player, thus captaining club and country for ages. Different style players, both impeccable at what they needed to do |

I'd still rather have Scholes than both of them but that's because I'm a united fan. But no discredit to Gerrard and Lampard amazing midfielders. I still don't know why England weren't at the top of their game when we had them three to pick from as our midfield. |

CompleteDesigns wrote m.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/ar...mbers.html I'd agree, there's no denying that Lampard edges it stats wise, and that can be a case to argue he's a better player, but I just think you've got to take into account that Gerrard was more than just a player throughout his career, at a very young age, he became the foundation of Liverpool's team, someone almost every other player in that team relied upon to find results out of nowhere, and this has gone on year in year out and will continue until he has left. You can find great players scattered amongst many different teams across the world and Lamps is definitely at the top of the pile alongside your Keanes, Scholes', Vieras, but for me, when you remember some of the defining moments in football that Gerrard instigated, I just don't think there is a case to say he doesn't deserve the plaudits he gets - e.g The unbelievable header at Istanbul against Milan that sparked one of the most famous comebacks of our generation, if not in the history of football, or his last minute screamer against the Hammers to take the FA cup into extra time, which they eventually won. Don't get me wrong here - think Lamps is world class, and is definitely on par with Gerrard, but don't think its reasonable for some to brush Stevie under the carpet |

SlipMode wroteCompleteDesigns wrote m.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/ar...mbers.html Im not trying to brush him under the carpet , In terms of his abilty he clearly was a amazing player and one of the best Midfielders in the prem but i find it annoying when people say Gerrard is better than FL - You can say there different players and all that but i geinuely think (And the stats back it up) that FL is better than him , Again im not brushing him under the carpet though just giving my opinion on him (I dont like him either ,The fact he is seen as the epitomy of loyality when he tried to get a move to CFC) When you say about the way he inspired others etc , I think Lamps was just as good as him at that , The only problem being that we Had Drogba and JT in the same team as him , So he is going to be the one player everyone looks up too because some will look up to the Captain more (JT) and some will look up to drogba more as he was the one who inspired us to the champs leauge win. |
