What is the make and model of your case, and your PSU?
The first upgrade, add an SSD. 100%, no brainer, no way anything else should be upgraded before you add an SSD. After that, we need more info to really recommend an upgrade. What do you use the system for? Is it just the new Black Ops you intend on playing? What monitor(s) are you using?(make and model, OR resolution and refresh rate) |

Meh, the case is fine- nothing special, but it'll do the job.. Can upgrade it if you really want to though. If you want some case suggestions, I can leave some, but there's of course case is a fairly personal choice in the end.
As for SSD, I'd honestly just aim for something like this; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/HmmFf...b-rktq-1tb but it depends what you want to do with the rest of your upgrade budget. You could just grab a cheap 480/512GB SSD for 50 odd quid. Why is it you're looking to upgrade exactly? What does your system currently not do(or not do well enough) that you want it to? If it's literally just for the new Call of Duty, then a GPU upgrade is going to be your best bet for higher FPS. Your CPU is still fine for now, especially for CoD. As for which GPU- an RX 5700 or RTX 2060 Super/2070 will get you to around 120FPS in MW2019 @ 1080p Ultra. An RX 5700XT or 2070 Super will get you to around 144FPS. I'd imagine performance in CoD 2020 is going to be somewhat similar to MW2019. However, with RTX 3000 GPU's being released now, and AMD's next gen GPU's being announced at the end of October, now is a really bad time to upgrade to any of the aforementioned cards. I'd settle with lower settings for now on your GTX 1660, wait for an RTX 3060 or AMD equivalent, or maybe go for RTX 3070/AMD equivalent and you'll be laughing. |

Thanks for your help 21! So for now should I just buy the SSD ? And wait it out ? It's just I've got some money for my bday and felt like I needed an upgrade. I'd just like to comfortably run Cold War at 144 if that's possible with this build. |

Yeah, so if you're just wanting an upgrade for the sake of an upgrade and since you have the cash, this is probably the worst time to do that, unfortunately. Definitely add an SSD since you've not got one, and take the chance to upgrade case since you'd like to, but I'd really just hold off on any further upgrades for now. So, for cases, these are the suggestions I usually start with; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/FP3mP...400atg_dwt P400A is a killer good case IMO, price is really good for what you get. Can get in black or white, with or without RGB fans. uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/LVQfr...0atg_dbk01 Same idea as the P400A, but a little bigger. The P500A is pretty much a P600S with P400A front panel design(for improved airflow). If I was buying a new case now, the P500A is probably what I'd be getting(if not the PC-O11 Dynamic). uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Hwkj4...e-pc-o11dx You'll need to buy yourself a bunch of fans for this case, but once you do, it's a brilliant case. Again, white or black, your choice. Lastly, a couple of Fractal Design options; uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/Y6Crx...h-c-bko-tg uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/VvJtt...s2-bko-tgd |

One last thing I was going to get the P500A you mentioned but I can't find it in stock and I seen you also mentioned the PC-O11 Dynamic which is in stock will I need any extra fans for that case as I think I'm gonna grab that one.
Also I can comfortably spend another £250 on anything else while I wait out for gpu releases so what else you reckon I should grab besides the SSD and a new case. I've just recently upgraded peripherals already so they are out the picture is it worth getting better ram or even a new motherboard?( I am set on spending this last £250) |
