I've been meaning to get to this for a while haven't had the time. Just going to be a light brief breakdown and possibly an in-depth one if i get around to it in the coming days.
As always constructive criticism is never a final word. Everyone views art differently this is just a little more of a critical breakdown on some aspects. |

Cheers to some great CNC! I agree with the most of the corrections suggested, all of which will help tie in the design to look more 'real' which is the goal of a manip. To notate some pressure points: 1. The glowing characters shadow is very stiff, could use some work there. Do a quick study by looking at photographs similar to someone walking away from the cam and really give those shadows a look, you will see where to improve with blurring and displacing. 2. Another point is the opacity issues in the godlike character. He needs to remain full enough in the right areas, like hands and mid section, tailing out the lower body will look decent still. You just need to enhance the presence of that character, bump that opacity up and blend out with shades of grey on the mask to get it right. 3. Lastly the lighting is not global, the columns are lit opposed to being in shadow because the light sources are the sky & characters. No light would be cast on the foremost point. Keep it up, try a more simple manip and focus on getting that lighting and realism down. Shit if its an apple on a table but I can't tell you added the apple then you nailed it. For your next one keep it real simple, something you can get good reference on and try to just match the tone of everything. Once you get that down revisit some of your more complex ideas! I have done it in the past and was able to finally create what i saw in my head years ago. |
