If you need it cheaper, drop the RX 6800 to an RX 6700XT and you can save 100 euros. I would say that the RX 6800 is worth the premium over the 6700XT though.

If you just need to get it under 1000, you can drop to 16GB instead of 32GB RAM if you want, or just buy a cheaper 1TB SSD(The Crucial P3 is a good option).

You could also probably save a little bit of money on the case, or find something your friend prefers the look of for a similar price. The Fractal Pop Air is a solid mid ranged case though.

This will be more than capable of comfortably playing games at 1080p144Hz. You won't be maxing out settings or anything, but you're not buying a high end system. There's a little room for changes to this system, if you don't like the case or want additional RAM/storage, or something.
