Red Dead Redemption's framerate on Xbox One and Xbox 360 compared

4.5
With the announcement made earlier this week, today fans of Rockstar Games’ hugely-acclaimed Red Dead Redemption will finally be able to play the title through backwards compatibility on Xbox One (as one of the most requested titles), with the game even getting a performance boost according to a new comparison video between the original and running through backwards compatibility on Xbox One.

In a new comparison video from Digital Foundry, the test showcases both the original version of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 compared against the game running through backwards compatibility on Xbox One.

Overall, the most noticeable difference from Digital Foundry‘s test is the Xbox One version of the game running with a smoother, more consistent frame rate at 30fps, where the Xbox 360 version could drop a bit below that at certain points, along with some slight changes in the color and contrast between the two versions.

Red Dead Redemption was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010, with the game now available to play though backwards compatibility – in the meantime, you can view the full comparison from Digital Foundry below:

I am honestly surprised that the xbox one has better frame rates, games like Halo Reach is the complete opposite for some strange reason. Like it makes sense the xbox one should get more but xbox one still has problems here and there with the backwards compatible games. Which is pretty sad.
