Xbox Live shuts down 'Fort Gay' gamer plus Stepto ripping on thetechgame

Microsoft Corp. and Xbox Live are apologizing to a small West Virginia town and a 26-year-old gamer accused of violating the online gaming service's code of conduct by declaring he's from Fort Gay.

The town is real and its name has been Fort Gay since 1932. But Seattle-based Microsoft and the Xbox Live enforcement team wouldn't take Josh Moore's word for it.

They suspended his gaming privileges for a few days last week until he could convince them his Wayne County hometown is real.

Xbox Live chief enforcement officer Stephen Toulouse acknowledges the agent reviewing a fellow gamer's complaint against Moore made a mistake.

He says keeping up with slang and policing Xbox Live for offensive language is challenging, but mistakes in judgment are rare.

i have just been thinking about your comment and your right why don't they ban off all the kids who should not be playing mw2 because its an 18 looks like microsoft make the laws as they go along i remember when mw2 came out they added a rule about glitches due to the abuse of bugs yet they do not seem to want to deal with the issue of kids playing 18 titles xbox live a lawless land?

KontaKt I think its cute how they cry about cheaters an modders and whatever els when the biggest problem overall is THERE UNLAWFUL SALE OF games to MINORS, You need to be atleast 18 to play the game first of all... Hell i got carded when I went to buy mine and Im 20 yrs old,, NONE of the COD games would be as great and made as much money as they did if Minors didnt play the game... So they can cry about the cheaters and modders when Its themself who created the problem, and WHY cant an xbl member report theses problems? you tell me why? exactly you cant or els 75 percent of there money would be gone because they dont have minors giving them there lunch money
No offense but that was the stupidest thing I have heard. The kids just have there parents buy the game because it is rated M. Doesnt mean you have to be 17+ to play it, it is all just a warning. Ever notices "Online interactions no rated"? So don't complain about chirpers our little kids. Its like going to the movies, you need a parental note or something to enter 14+ movie if you are younger. Just get over it.


You proof my point ANY RESPONSIBLE parent would not buy that game for there kids, I can go to any gametype right now an I will put money on it that there is a 11 year old kid throwing threats around like hes going to come to where i live an stab me....BUT YET you can only report for trash talking an thank GOD for for toggle mute.. then even after they are muted they send messages to you swearing they will end your life... Simply its sad... What kid sits at home all day in the summer time to play xbox... an yet they have to nerve to make fun of people that are of age to play the game. In witch I have a job full time.. Make my own money and dose not still live with my parents...

Soup1d Very very childish... Sad to know this is coming from a grown man. Is this there idea of an attack? Lol. I have over 23 XBL Profiles. I started J-tagging 6 months ago. Only about 8 of them have been permanently banned. Its cute that he is trying to scare all the little kids in the modding community. Which i dont have a problem with. But us older and wiser modders know better.


i like how he acts like when the ban hammer drops its over this to me is worrying he is either lying or is totally unaware of the issue the Director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox LIVE cannot seem to take these problems seriously or just has no knowledge of them i think hes the one reading tutorials online
