Melee Weapons & Reticles Coming to Modern Warfare Remastered

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s massive holiday update, which sees the introduction of the shooter’s remaining six maps, will also include new melee weapons, customisable reticles and “weapon kits”.

The news comes via a number of prominent streamers and YouTube users, who have been granted early access to the game’s December patch by publisher Activision.

While these users have not intentionally being showing off the game’s long-rumoured melee weapons, eye-eagled viewers noticed items such as shovels and swords appearing in their kill feeds.

Furthermore, users also spotted that new options, including reticle and ‘kit’ – thought to be a weapon cosmetic change – have been added to the FPS’s Create-A-Class menu.

According to YouTuber user TmarTn, the update will also include a number of festive camos.

Modern Warfare Remastered’s holiday update is slated to release on Tuesday (December 13).

Terrible. For now most likely going to be cosmetic I really really hope they listen to the community. For now I bet it's just cosmetics, if you all tweet and voice your opinions maybe we can stop them in their tracks. This stuff was found in the game files before they were flown out. There was also NEW GUNS found. The Galil and Spas and others look it up not sure which guns even a new one though. Even silly stupid reticle are going to mess the game up TBH. Vote with your wallet and your voice do not buy supply drops. I never do but if I hit the lottery I wouldn't spend 1$ on MWR supply drops or maps that aren't the original DLC.

If it just replaces your knife and doesn't make it so people are able to run around with a damn shovel I don't mind, the knifes are trash anyways. But knowing Activison that probably isn't the case. Way to ruin the only good thing you had this year.

Should've left knifing as the only melee weapon. I don't mind it as a weapon but its a shitty addition to a game like this.

We With everyone complaining about the new camos/weapon kits. Yall dont even know what these things mean yet are already complaining! I think its awesome! They might actually be waking up realizing that they need to make a good call of duty again!


amen i think its a good touch to an old game we need to have more things in this game then how it was original was basic which was great but still lackless of all

Why would they try to mess up the game? It's good as it is right now though I am ready for the new maps. They need to stop trying to make it like the new CODs, it's supposed to be similar to the original Cod4 not infinite damn warfare.
