Modern Warfare Remastered Receives Supply Drops and Microtransactions

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s December update is now rolling out worldwide, bringing six new maps, numerous cosmetic items and female soldiers to Raven Software’s first-person shooter.

However, the update is also introducing a surprising – and in many quarters, unwelcome – addition, in the form of supply drops and microtransactions via Call of Duty Points. It’s worth noting that supply drops contain only cosmetic items at present, and can also be earned with in-game depot credits as well as purchased with real money via COD Points.

Users will also be able to craft many of the items provided in supply drops with Parts, which can be acquired by playing the game’s various modes.

The changes are coming via title update 1.06, which weighs in at 27GB for Xbox One users and approximately 8GB for PC and PS4 players.

I have been coming to the TTG for all of my console gaming related news since MW2 and 360 JTAG days. I never felt the need to make a single comment on these posts until now.

I honestly can't help but laugh at how pathetic the general community is in terms to their reaction to this update. I don't understand why people are so upset, saying this ruined the game??? lol. EVERY SINGLE GAME has micro transactions now. They gave us the remaining six maps, new camos, titles, emblems, game modes, and even Winter Crash (Which is awesome) and people still find a reason to complain. It is sad. If you really hate CoD this bad now, do yourself a favor and actually stick to your word when you said you were never buying another call of duty again. I have heard that line since MW3 lol. This update has made the game 100x better.

I mean its not that bad of an edition. If you really dont like the suppy drops you can just ignore them. Thats how useless they kind of are in this game.

As of right now, I don't hate it. We will see if they start adding dumb stuff to those supply drops, for the additional maps, characters, shirts and camos I enjoy that.
