Modern Warfare Remastered Receives Supply Drops and Microtransactions

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s December update is now rolling out worldwide, bringing six new maps, numerous cosmetic items and female soldiers to Raven Software’s first-person shooter.

However, the update is also introducing a surprising – and in many quarters, unwelcome – addition, in the form of supply drops and microtransactions via Call of Duty Points. It’s worth noting that supply drops contain only cosmetic items at present, and can also be earned with in-game depot credits as well as purchased with real money via COD Points.

Users will also be able to craft many of the items provided in supply drops with Parts, which can be acquired by playing the game’s various modes.

The changes are coming via title update 1.06, which weighs in at 27GB for Xbox One users and approximately 8GB for PC and PS4 players.

I honestly like this, it's all cosmetic, Melee weapons are not a problem considering they are a 1 shot in MWR anyway.

This ruined the game there's girl soliders with smaller hit boxes and more gross camo's and legendary sights witch give you an upper hand at distance RIP MWR

Vader As of right now, I don't hate it. We will see if they start adding dumb stuff to those supply drops, for the additional maps, characters, shirts and camos I enjoy that.


They need to not add 100 melee weapons and like 5 guns imo

Stelter I understand why people are complaining, but as long as they stick to purely cosmetic items I don't see it being a huge deal. New melee weapons are a step in the wrong direction but as long as they don't give you a gameplay advantage then so be it.
I just hope that weapon variants, weapon upgrades and DLC weapons will never be a thing again. That's what really drives people crazy.


Its only a matter of time before we start seeing gun variants and supply drop only guns.
There are guns in the game files that weren't in the original along with the shovel, now look where the shovel is; supply drops.
I knew it was coming and I know we will soon see supply drop only weapons. I have gone back to Halo because I was so pumped to play Cod4 again but this has killed it entirely for me.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
