NetherRealm’s Injustice 2 – a sequel to the successful DC Universe fighting game with Batman, Superman and other superhumans – will be releasing on May 16th for Xbox One and PS4.

The news was confirmed by the developer on Twitter. It noted that this is the planned release date for the game in America so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for confirmation on a European release date.

Injustice 2 follows much of the same formula of the previous game, adding new heroes like Deadshot to the mix. However, it will also feature a new loot system to allow players to equip fighters with tons of different kinds of armour. How this will be balanced is still to be confirmed but it’s definitely intriguing and should add some replay value.
