The NES Classic is outselling the Wii U

A surprising console has made its way onto the list of top-selling consoles: the NES Classic Edition.

According to the NPD Group’s January 2017 report (via GamesBeat), the NES Classic Edition is officially selling better than the Wii U. It makes sense, since the NES Classic released to a wave of nostalgia and the Wii U is on its last legs. Still, it’s unusual for a $60 remake of an 8-bit console to be anywhere near the top-selling list, especially since the NES Classic has frequently been out of stock since its release.

In January, the NES Classic Edition was the third-best selling console. The PlayStation 4 claimed first place, with the Xbox One in second.

It’s likely that we’ll see the same, or a similar pattern, continue into February. The market will likely be shaken up a bit in March, however, when the Nintendo Switch hits shelves.

That's gonna be pretty hard considering they are going our of production.

ive wanted a Wii U for a while but its so over priced as the only games i'd play are Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros and Zelda, id love to have one of those NES Classics but I dont think they have them in the UK do they?
