Xbox Project Scorpio will be more expensive than PS4 Pro

It’s for “that premium customer, the gamer that expects the absolute best versions of the games,” says Microsoft.

Microsoft’s new Xbox console, codenamed Project Scorpio, will be more expensive than the PlayStation 4 Pro.

The PS4 Pro currently retails for $579 in the US and £349 in the UK – no small beans.

According to Eurogamer’s interview with Mike Ybarra, corporate VP of Xbox at Microsoft, Project Scorpio is for “that premium customer, the gamer that expects the absolute best versions of the games”. And the site states that “one thing seems clear: Project Scorpio will be more expensive than PS4 Pro.”

Microsoft has revealed the tech specs for Project Scorpio today in a collaboration with Digital Foundry.

First talked about last year, Project Scorpio is Microsoft’s hardware refresh for the Xbox One and takes on Sony’s PS4 Pro, released late in 2016.

We’re expecting to see a bunch of Scorpio games announced at E3 in June, including a detailed look at those already confirmed including Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves.

Mlkey Well thats expected and considering the xbox one was $400 on its launch i think this ones gonna be at least $550 if not more ! :o but im still gonna get it :p


Im thinking $599. Although anything could happen, I would advise all members to start saving up while they can as no one really knows the exact price of this console.

I doubt it was going to be less. PlayStation released 3 separate consoles only changing sizes ect. The Scorpio brings a whole to plate to the table.

Honestly I spend money on things which I don't really need so this would a good investment for me. Of course it's going to be more expensive it's got much better specs than the PS4 Pro. It won't deter customers tho into purchasing.

Yeah at this point with so much hype, it could launch tomorrow and i would buy it without even checking the price. (Within reason).

Scorpio is going to be epic, I just hope Microsoft can pull some good exclusives again

Agreed. A simple google search is enough to find that info. I think that information alone sorta discredits this article.

This would be the type of person to build a custom PC. This is not me trying to start anything, it's just a fact. A premium user that wants the best out of games buys a gtx 1080 ti and a 144hz monitor.


Yeah buying a GTX 1080TI what is like 600 pounds and a 144hz monitor which is 200 + then everything else for your build which will add up to 1200 +, 'that premium customer' is someone who wants an powerful console and doesn't wants to spend loads on it. Just saying
