Battlegrounds uses the BattleEye anti-cheat system, and has so far banned over 150,000 of these cheaters since it launched in March. The new figure was revealed today by creative director Brendan Greene.
In fact, over 8,000 of them were banned in the last 24 hours.
By comparison, PUBG banned 25,000 cheaters during the first three month after launch. Nearly three months later, the number has been increased sixfold, no doubt a result of the game’s incredible growth in that time.
Of course, the game was a popular indie hit at the time. Now, it’s the biggest game on Steam, with over 1 million concurrent players.
In other good Battlegrounds news, the game received the big September patch earlier this morning. Highlights include the addition of a new weapon, a new town, the foggy weather condition, and a host of gameplay improvements. This was the game’s first update in a while, and it’s great to see so many welcome additions.
.@TheBattlEye has now banned over 150,000 cheaters from @PUBATTLEGROUNDS, with more than 8,000 banned in the last 24 hours alone! GG WP
