Strange! According to third party reports, court filings reveal that Sony tried to send Geohot $1 to prove that the hacker was taking donations. However, Geohot himself never requested any donations. For those asking why Sony might do this? Well, if Geohot was hacking for profit, then it opens up a new avenue to strengthen their case against him.

If this is legitimate, then Sony just put the nail in the coffin for this case. Doing that isn't going to help them at all now, and if anything, it'll hurt them.
