Activision Confirms Next Call of Duty Is by Treyarch

During Activision Blizzard’s fourth quarter financial conference call, the publisher confirmed the developer for the upcoming Call of Duty game.

According to the company’s prepared remarks, the next chapter of the saga coming this year (in Q4, which means between October and December as usual)) will be developed by Treyarch, which is the studio behind the Black Ops series. We also heard that Activision “can’t wait to share more” during future conference calls.

The latest Call of Duty game developed by Treyarch was Call of Duty: Black Ops III in 2015. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you can enjoy our review. It wasn’t perfect, but it was definitely good.

Treyarch also worked on Call of Duty Black Ops in 2010 and Black Ops II in 2012, alongside helping with the ports of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call of Duty: Ghosts.

This means that Activision is sticking with the three-year development cycle that sees Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch alternating at the helm of the Call of Duty franchise.

there's always a slot for a new company to come in and create the next Call of Duty. This is why they confirm the creators since its possible for Treyarch to not make the game this year.

I vote lose IW at this point, they were once good but trash anymore tbh

My mind cant calculate in my mind how this will carry on? Yeah it's cool and all of that that thee will be a cool CoD but yeah we gotta see more updates on this headline. More interested in the Prestiges, Killstreaks, etc.. you get my point.

I do not see how they would continue the black ops story lines... or zombies in that matter. I would love to see what Treyarch has in store for us this time. This is going to be a good one I hope. #NoMoreFuture

Treyarch in my opinion have made the best call of duty's especially WAW & BO1, those games smashed it and I still love playing them to this day, just hopefully their next game doesn't have exo suits in I hate that trash.

i really hope we get a call of duty that is modern but boots on the ground. We want modern guns like ak47/M4/Scar etc not laser beam guns. Put us in Afghanistan in 2000-2018 not 2050. No Jet Packs No Laser Guns No Boost Jumps and boots on the ground and we should have a good game.
