Fortnite passes PUBG with 3.4 million concurrent players

Fortnite hit a new peak of 3.4 million concurrent players on Sunday, February 4 and the load caused major service disruptions.


So many players logged into Fortnite over the February 3-4 weekend it crashed the servers.

Before the outages, the game hit a peak concurrent user record of 3.4 million players.

Epic Games posted an update on the Fortnite website to share technical details about the challenges of having to “rapidly scale” a game and its online services, which are far beyond its “wildest growth expectations.”

According to Epic, the extreme load of players caused six different incidents over the two-day period resulting in a mix of partial and total service disruptions.

Cearnsy Granted it wouldn't be as popular if it wasn't free is true but for me it is a good game for passing time especially.


Agreed, a great game to pass time but it being free is a huge vamp in player count though


It would be even more popular if it had a couple more maps. Like they would be in a rotation.


debatable, if they had more maps it would be amazing but less people on each maps servers. It would be great to see a new map come out though, but only 1. multiple maps I dont see happening anytime soon.


They'll need to too keep the player base, people will eventually get bored and they'll want something new. Happens every time on every game.


Like every game, it needs updates>extras to keep the community going on. Like black ops 3.

I mean less players on each map server wouldnt really hurt much with as many players as this game has to be honest. I am not saying have alot of maps just like 2 or 3 more would spice up the game a little bit.

Yep, i did say this would happen, Fortnite is way better than PUBG, and the fact the game is free, makes it all the more popular. Example I aint even bought PUBG on Xbox yet, but i have Fortnite due to the simple fact it was a free download.

I sure saw this one coming. Fortnite is just so fun, and I love playing the game over pretty much any other game. Lets see what they have in store for the game in the upcoming months. I see big things!

Petrucci I hate this game, only reason it passed pubg is because every broke kid on the internet wants to play free games. Only reason Lol is so popular.
