Today, Activision and Treyarch have officially revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s multiplayer mode. We finally know what to expect from the next entry in the popular first-person shooter franchise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will see the introduction of its new multiplayer-focused gameplay that is “breaking the convention” of modern multiplayer shooters. A trailer showing off the game’s multiplayer was shown giving us a glimpse of the fast-paced gameplay, colorful environments, and tactical game design.

The game will not have any wall-running or boost jumps; boots will, for the most part, always be on the ground. There will be ways to quickly traverse the environment such as a Widowmaker-esque grapple gun.

Weapons are getting an overhaul this time around. Each gun will have its own attachments rather than the shared attachments seen in the previous Call of Duty games. Healing is no longer automatic. Players will now manually have to heal themselves. This mechanic is more in-line with the tactical gameplay Black Ops 4 is striving for.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was announced back in March where we got a little teaser flaunting its oddly stylized logo and the date for today’s community reveal event — DualShocker’s own Tanner Pierce is currently on-site for the event. Since its announcement, we’ve seen little teases here and there including some for the game’s zombie mode.
