Over on the official Steep Twitter account, one user responded to a tweet from the account and inquired about the status of the Switch port. Surprisingly, the Steep Twitter account responded and revealed what many likely expected to hear already and confirmed that development for that version of the game has been canceled.
“We are wholly dedicated to supporting the live game, and made the decision to stop Steep development on the Nintendo Switch platform to focus on bringing new live content and challenges to Steep players instead,” stated the Steep Twitter account. “We’ll have more exciting news to share soon,” the statement ended with.
This honestly isn’t surprising whatsoever given how silent Ubisoft has been on news for this version of Steep, but it’s still a bummer nonetheless who were waiting to grab the game on their Switch. If I had to guess, Ubisoft probably just didn’t see the return on investment had they finished porting the game over, so they just opted to quietly cancel it instead.
If you still haven’t played Steep yet, you can still grab it on PS4, Xbox One, and PC right now.
Hey @RJISAGAMER! We are wholly dedicated to supporting the live game, and made the decision to stop Steep development on the Nintendo Switch platform to focus on bringing new live content and challenges to Steep players instead. We’ll have more exciting news to share soon.
