EA FY11: BF3 “flat out superior” to CoD, losses trimmed

EA has said pre-orders for Battlefield 3 are hugely higher than those for Bad Company 2, and has shown solid results for both the full-year ending March 31 and its fiscal Q4. EA lost $276 million in the year ended March 31, narrowed from the $677 million lost in the previous year, while sales stayed virtually unmoved at $3.589 billion compared to last year’s $3.654 billion.

Profit for the fourth quarter, ending March 31, was well up, at $151 million to $30 million in the previous corresponding period.

The company also said that Battlefield 3 pre-orders were up over 700 percent on Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the last game in the series which released last year.

“We know we have a big competitor, but head-to-head with Call of Duty in Q3, we have the superior game engine, a superior development studio, and a flat out superior game,” said Frank Gibeau. “Our goal is to significantly gain share in the huge FPS category and to put the other team on defense.”

WELL... I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT COD ARE WATCHING WHAT BATTLEFIELD 3 DO, SO WHEN THE NEW COD TRAILER COMES OUT WITH IN THIS MONTH IT WILL BLOW US AWAY LIKE BATTLEFIELD 3 DID FIRST TIME THEY SHOWED GAMEPLAY.

You sure got that Right! I have been a CoD player since CoD1 and not long ago started playing BF:BC2 I already Enjoy Bad Company 2 100x more than CoD. Not saying CoD is broing cuz I still love CoD. But I have to Admit Battlefield is a game that is way ''Superior''.

I don't see why everyone says their opinion is fact,it's not.

What is fact,is sales and a games ranking on XBL.

Fact is CoD is the number one game on Xbox Live,and also has sold out BF each time they compete.

And in my opinion,Call of Duty's campaign & online modes,are far more enjoyable than Battlefield.

Everyone has their own views though,but with Call of Duty's sales,it's not going to "die" any time soon if you look at it logically.

cronic74 I think it will take MW3 to put the fact into the minds of people that Battlefield really is a superior game. MW3 will have more sales and more plays than Battlefield 3. But after MW3, CoD will be dead and Battlefield will take it's place.

I hope Battlefield 3 is a huge success and takes down CoD but i think that MW3 will take down CoD itself because all MW3 is going to be is another MW2 with new guns, maps, and effects.

Moral of the story xD Battlefield will take the place of CoD AFTER MW3. Wait another game :D


Umm COD will never Die dude. im getting BF3 it seems good, but im also getting MW3 im sure mw3 will be better than BF3 we haven't even seen a preview for it yet. watch every one change there minds when they release game play or a teaser of MW3 -

Every FPS they've put out for the last two years have been called CoD killers by themselves and only to lead to embarrassment. Good for you if you finally have a game that's better then CoD, but don't be such **** about it.
