4A Games and Deep Silver announced this morning that Metro Exodus, the upcoming third installment in the survival-based first-person shooter series, had now officially gone gold. In the process, they revealed that the game would also have a new release date, which would be that of February 15. This is a rare instance of a release date being pushed up rather than delayed, which you don’t see too often in the gaming industry.
Rather than releasing alongside Anthem on February 22 as originally planned, Metro Exodus has been pushed up by simply one week. Unfortunately, February 15 in a lot of ways is still just as packed full of new releases with Jump Force, Far Cry New Dawn, Dead or Alive 6, and Crackdown 3 all coming out on that same day. It’s safe to say that those two weeks in February are going to be quite busy for a lot of folks. Regardless, I’m interested in seeing which new release out of that slate ends up selling the best in that first week.
Lastly, 4A Games also unveiled the opening title sequence of Metro Exodus along with some music from the game’s original score. You can find this opening video embedded in the tweet attached at the bottom of the page.
Metro Exodus is slated to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and PC when it releases next year.
Take your first look at the haunting title sequence set to an original score by composer Alexey Omelchuk.
