Call of Duty: Elite Could Support Modern Warfare 1 & 2

As it stands, when Call of Duty: Elite launches later this year, it will support two game: Call of Duty: Black Ops & Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. But a recent report suggests that Activision is still pondering the possibilities of incorporating functionality for previous Call of Duty games as well. Two of the biggest games that are still being played to this very day are Modern Warfare 1 & 2 and in a recent interview OXM, the Beachhead Studio boss told the magazine that they are currently weighing the possibilities for the service.

"We haven't ruled anything out yet, but we've been laser-focused on Black Ops implementation, and more importantly, instrumenting the service to support every game that comes on from here," the developer told the magazine.

"The challenge is cracking open the old games, because it only works well when it's built next to and within the game," "We'd love to do it in theory, but in practice it's a lot harder than it sounds. The focus is first to get it right on our current ones forward, and then we may make the decision to go back at some point."

Call of Duty: Elite is a mixture of premium and free services for the Call of Duty fan that provides stat-tracking, competitions, video creations, and other features in the not completely revealed program that is scheduled to launch later this year.

isnt it too late to do this though? The leaderboards are ruined for the old games.

shadow1 So why the hell arnt they going to do this to my favorite cod which is WaW? Nobody plays it because there are so many damn hackers. You go into a game and when it starts, its instant attack dogs with people flying and god mode with all weapons. Putting cod elite into waw will fix it bring the people online from 7000 hackers to about 39000 real players, which is the same amount of people that play on cod 4. Trust me, this will help out WaW because before the hacks, there were about 39000 people online.

When WaW came out every one was dissapointed at the game and went back to CoD4 and trust me people wouldnt come back to WaW


I do feel you on that, i was dissapointed when WaW came out at first. They brought it back from like 2007 to 1939. But after a few weeks, my love for the game grew stronger. The maps on that game are so well made that i can go into a team tac on battery and finish the game with 3 minutes to spare. If i had a decision to go back to waw with no hackers and a decent amount of players than MW2 or BO, i will take it. The average cod player may not go back, but the lovers will.


i agree with you on this i LOVED WaW and was top in search leader boards until they got hacked, then i got pissed and got my account perm banned for inappropriate gamertags lol

what is that one guy talking about i was not dissapointed when waw came out i loved it and i still love playing today but all the hackers just ruin it for everyone but them selves

i have not touched the game in a while because of them and i would probably still be playing it

Its basically Bungies file share but for call of duty and you gotta pay for it but it comes with some freebies (as they said)

Well it is because the game is older and when games get older people dont play them anymore.And therfore Call of duty elite is going to be for the newwer games.

Im with you on this waw is actually a good game(used to be) But thats treyarc and there to busy bring out the 200th map pack for shit ops to patch cod 5
