EA accused of ModernWarfare3 domain hijinks

In a move that perhaps kicks off what will be an intense six months of campaigning and rivalry, it has been discovered that the URL www.ModernWarfare3.com redirects to the homepage of rival game Battlefield.

The URL appears to have been registered anonymously, though some – such as Future site GamesRadar – are openly pointing the finger at Battlefield publisher EA.

Kotaku reckons that prior to the redirect the site contained an anti-Call of Duty video and the following text:

“Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8th, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

“Check out the E3 2011 gameplay demo featuring the Black Tuesday level for a look at the epic fail of the campaign. Pre-Order Call of Duty MW3 Today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to secure exclusive bonuses only available online for Modern Warfare 3 fanboys who don't know that Battlefield 3 is the better game.”

I believe that all the CoD and BF games are pretty much similar. Most of the war games, game play wise, are pretty much the same. Same weapons, similar game modes, etc.

But shit, it's still entertainment either way. Both are fun. Everyone needs to just realize that it passes the time, and to stop fighting over them.

On another note, redirecting the domain, is some funny stuff right there. I loled hard.

Oasis Lol, "Modern Warfare 3 fanboys". Because they went to the effort of redirecting a website to BF3, Because these "fanboys" went to the effort of publicly hating on the campaign video.

What a bunch of lifers. Even if BF3 turns out to be an okay game I'll stay clear of it because I really don't want to play a game with people that would clearly jack EA off if it meant they earn't a secret gimp outfit for their character.

'BF fans, taking it too seriously since forever. COD fans, laughing at the jelly BF fans since 2007'


..You obviously haven't seen how uptight people are about Call of Duty,I'm not going to start a flame war over 2 games,and CoD fans,wow..

In all fairness,BF's multiplayer is more team-oriented,and requires you to use strategics to do well,it's much more realistic warfare and suits a more mature audience.

Also in fairness,Call of Duty can be fun with quickscoping and killstreak.(except in black ops where the killstreaks, especially the heli's and dogs,were unbeatable) The campaign in CoD is also very enjoyable.

But in due fairness,BFBC2 and Medal of Honor's Multiplayer (don't trash it if you haven't played it) was a lot better than Black ops' multiplayer.

I personally hated medal of honor, but I would have to agree with you that its multiplayer was better than Black ops' although thats not saying much xD.

Umm, it tells me CoD is still going to sell more. Do you have any idea how many people are going to buy it on launch day? Not everybody pre-orders the game 5 months before it comes out. And you're obviously not a fan :|


I can see into the future and i know how many people are going to be at launch day of MW3. Theres is going to be atleast 5 million less "little kids" at the stores. Not happy? Go complain to the future
