EA accused of ModernWarfare3 domain hijinks

In a move that perhaps kicks off what will be an intense six months of campaigning and rivalry, it has been discovered that the URL www.ModernWarfare3.com redirects to the homepage of rival game Battlefield.

The URL appears to have been registered anonymously, though some – such as Future site GamesRadar – are openly pointing the finger at Battlefield publisher EA.

Kotaku reckons that prior to the redirect the site contained an anti-Call of Duty video and the following text:

“Modern Warfare is crap. On November 8th, 2011, the most over-hyped first-person action series of all-time returns with the copy and paste sequel to the lackluster Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

“Check out the E3 2011 gameplay demo featuring the Black Tuesday level for a look at the epic fail of the campaign. Pre-Order Call of Duty MW3 Today for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to secure exclusive bonuses only available online for Modern Warfare 3 fanboys who don't know that Battlefield 3 is the better game.”

i love this quote it is so true if so many 6 year olds would give up a few bucks to see what battlefield is about, then they would see it is better rather than using unreal maps and perks on

I agree, i like both games but EA is being gay imo, because they are being self centered opinion wise, let COD players play COD DONT CONVERT THEM TO BF3! they'll suck at BF3 anyways. And stealing a domain name named MW3.com sure its funny but seriously thats just sad! People these days.

Not too long ago Activision tried suing some kid because he had the modernwarfaredotcom address before they made the domains.

This just makes me laugh, all I have to say is Activision are monygrabbing selfish egos and maybe now they are starting to learn there lesson.
