Graphics aren’t the major selling points of Modern Warfare 3

According to Robert Bowling, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 isn't all about flashy graphics. It's as much about the visual fidelity of the game as it is the excellent sound and lighting claims the creative strategist for Infinity Ward. Bowling explained the team's objectives when developing a new Modern Warfare game, and apparently, they focus just as much on delivering a well rounded experience in often over-looked areas of the game.

"How can we add more to the experience? " asked Bowling. It really comes down into adding everything over all, because we're at a point now where you keep building on the visuals." "But really what sells everything is the lighting and proper audio - all these things that add to the immersion and situational awareness that you may not be able to pick out individually, but altogether they add to the experience."

"That's not to presume the graphics at large is not having any improvement." A lot of the tech going into Modern Warfare 3 is allowing us to really maintain that high fidelity in graphics and visuals that you expect." "Now we've brought it out to a whole new scale because now the war has come from the outskirts into the heart of major cities. So you're fighting in these very dense, urban environments that are completely different that what you've seen before."

Both Games are awesome from their own individual gameplay and visuals. Just get the title you like and shut up ,if not go lick em.

Monster9969 Don't be childish. Both games will be great. I'm buying both. With that said, you can't say the Battlefield will be the better of the two without playing both. Battlefield 3 could possibly be the Black Ops of the Battlefield series, and that would be an epic fail. Sure, Black Ops sold 25 million copies, but if everyone could have play Black Ops before buying it, then it never would have surpassed MW2. Black Ops was horrible. So, based on the past two Modern Warfare titles, the third installment should be awesome. However, I can guarantee you that Battlefield will not out sell MW3. For now, it will have to be satisfied with being in second place. Also, if Infinity Ward made another graphics engine for Call of Duty, then Battlefield will be buried in a pile of rubble and long forgotten.

Agreed except for your final statement. IW/Sledgehammer/treyarch would really be pushing it if they tried to match/beat the Frostbite 2.0 engine.

Seriously, I think both games will be awesome. However, the only thing people keep bringing up is the Frostbite 2.0 graphics. If Activision built a graphics engine equivalent to Frostbite 2.0, then the graphics conversations would come to a halt. Then we would have to argue about gameplay once again. MW3 is not going to be a major leap and bound behind Battlefield 3, nor will it be the other way around. Both are going to give it their all. This is no time for either company to slip up. A whole lot is at stake. Not to mention bragging rights.

Agreed, I played BBC2 for a while and it just wasn't as face-paced gameplay as MW2 was.

But MW2 was trash

I like to hear this. Sometime the graphics in games can take away things because MOST developers are focused mostly on graphics...less attention on actual gameplay

TTG-iCuStOm I know most of the people got disappointed by Black Ops (even me) because multiplayer suck as*. But MW3 is a different story... Who was disappointed of MW2? Now imagine MW3 with more things like Survival Mode, new guns, etc. Who will be disappointed with this?


I was highly disappointed in the carelessness of the makers of mw2 how they made the guns way overpowered with super explosives and the knife. I Was highly disappointed at BO on how you dont need stopping power to kill people in 1 hit and how the shotguns and snipers and explosives along with ghost and flak jacket were too over powered. I wonder how im going to be highly disappointed with the new cod.

Camping GTFO CoD is the worst for camping. " Oh im going to go sit in a and wait for the guys to run past me", BTW sit behind a wall in BF you wont last long!


Hell no battlefield has way larger maps which mean more spots to camp.. by the time you find that camper you're already dead. I've seen BF3 alpha gameplay and there's hardly any run and gun.. most kills are from a crouched or prone camping position..
LULZ You must of never played BF ever, Rush that is all I have to say,And if you played BF you would know that only snipers can camp in Rush.
