If you were one of the people disappointed by the fact that Modern Warfare didn’t seem to have a battle royale mode planned, then I have some good news for you. According to some rumors by a credible individual, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will indeed be getting a battle royale mode…just later down the line than most people expected.
The rumor, which was revealed by YouTuber The Long Sensation (who previously leaked the title of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare), indicates that, while the mode will be connected to the main game, it will be available separate from the base package, and will also be available free to download. We previously heard that Activision was looking into a free-to-play component with this title, so this kind of lines up perfectly with what we heard.
On top of that, Long Sensation says that the mode will be available in 2020, during the game’s post-launch season. While this is a bit later than some people wanted, it certainly makes sense considering Infinity Ward just wants to focus on the three main modes of the game: campaign, multiplayer, and Spec-Ops.
Unfortunately, beyond that, we don’t know much of anything else about the battle royale mode itself. Of course, take these rumors with a grain of salt, but considering Long Sensation has been accurate about Call of Duty rumors in the past, I would think that it’s at least in the pipeline right now.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
So apparently Battle Royale in #ModernWarfare will be a free mode to release in early 2020. It will be downloadable as a separate game, but also will still be connected to the core game. If this is true then it's a very good move by Activision.
