Sony’s VP Says Microsoft is Protecting An Inferior Product

4.4
The Sony senior vice president of publisher relations Rob Dyer has given his view on the relationship Microsoft has with gaming publishers, both big and small. He discusses things that are usually kept closed door in the gaming industry, mainly about how Microsoft apparently demands certain things of game publishers which is caused by their need to protect an inferior products.
Dyer doesn’t hold back while describing Microsoft’s policies while pitching what Sony has to offer. He is quoted saying, “I think what [Xbox Europe boss] Chris Lewis was referring to was something that we’ve known about for quite some time, that we’ve been dealing with, and trying to deal with – in the spirit of competition, more than anything, we look for ways to give our consumer reason to have the PS3. I think what Chris and the other representatives at Microsoft are doing is protecting an inferior technology.”
He continues on to bring up Blu-Ray, exlucivity and Sony’s new relationship with Valve. Dyer, in the interview, sounded to be trying to stir up a revolt between Microsoft and devopers, though he does see why they have these policies……to protect an inferior product.
I encourage you to read the whole interview, it’s surely got some console wars ammo.

I'd also like to say that their customer service is terrible. For 360 if something goes wrong with it that isn't your fault ie: RRoD you can call support and they can either fix it or send you a new one for free. But if something happens to your PS3 that isn't your fault ie: something similar to RRoD (not sure what it it's called but does the same thing) a repair would cost you $99 if you don't have the original recipt. Ridiculous.

Well at least Sony confirmed how sad of a company they are for me at last.

Sony, keep your mouth shut please. Your just salty because the Xbox 360 sold way more during your network's downtime which was 2 months, even with a recent price cut people still won't want it because they know Xbox Live has the superior online service.
