While the Nintendo Switch has had a stellar roster of exclusive titles in the three years since it first released, the system especially has become a home to a ton of indie games from around the world. From fan favorites to cult hits, indie games have found their place in the ecosystem of the Nintendo Switch, with Hello Games one of the developers that are bringing their next title to the Switch with the upcoming The Last Campfire.
During the latest Nintendo Indie World broadcast, Hello Games debuted a new trailer for their upcoming title The Last Campfire, which brings players on a bit more of an intimate adventure compared to their last game, No Man’s Sky. The new trailer showcases a bit more of the gameplay as players explore a mystical land in what seems like will be an emotional adventure, along with its stunning visuals.
The Last Campfire was first revealed by Hello Games at The Game Awards 2018, but news on the title has been relatively quiet since then. However, the new trailer confirms that the game will be coming to Switch this summer, alongside releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Given how far the studio has come since the release of No Man’s Sky in 2016, from the game’s rocky launch to the string of major updates and new content it has brought in the years since, it will be interesting to see how the studio adjusts to a smaller-scaled project. Nevertheless, what we’ve seen from The Last Campfire so far looks pretty promising, and we won’t have too much longer to wait and see what it has in store for us.
