Datamining of the recently released Resident Evil 3 is in full swing right now (many gameplay and story spoilers have also emerged as a result), and the same datamining has also turned up some interesting stuff regarding a possible Switch version, with the game’s files making mention of the system in the context of both, autosaving and linking to the Switch eShop (via Rely on Horror). You can view the relevant images below.
Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad briefly addressed this on Twitter, saying that though Capcom doesn’t currently have any plans for a Resident Evil 3 port that natively runs on the Switch, they are considering a cloud release of the game on the platform, similar to what they did with Resident Evil 7. If that does end up happening, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s restricted to specific regions as well.
Resident Evil 3 is out on April 3 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Leftover files in the Resident Evil 3 demo suggest that a Switch version is either coming or was in development (I assume it's the latter)https://t.co/lYuXzWHbl1 pic.twitter.com/0VGEfD353r
