Battlefield 3 beta simultaneous players up 600% over BC2

The currently on-going beta testing of Battlefield 3 has proven to be massively successful for EA and DICE. In the second beta update on the series official blog, general manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson says that DICE is seeing “6 times the number of simultaneous players in the Battlefield 3 Open Beta compared to the Beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2!”

The public beta kicked off less than a week ago.

To give some comparison, the Bad Company 2 sampler early last year was downloaded 2 million times in its first 5 days of availability.

The blog post also reiterates that the main purpose for the beta is to stress test the servers and backend, and that the game on show is based over a month old code, so bugs are to be expected; “the code you are now playing is actually quite early and not representative of the final game.”

“The final game will look, play and sound better than the Open Beta. You have helped making sure of that.”

MightyMitch Haha people still dont get what a beta means. The version of BF3 that we've been playing is months outdated and it still looks and plays better than any other fps out.

Look, if anyone takes off there pre-order there **** retarded because the beta is meant to be played to find glitches and other game breaking stuff.... It's not meant to be played for enjoyment because the beta we see now may be very different from the actual game....

Do you have the slightest clue that, that was beta? They only wanted to test servers, not make the game enjoyable. That code was from last month, not the newest. That code has bugs, glitches, and even graphics problems. Don't expect it to be **** perfect. They just wanted to test the servers so they know what they are up against.

Every time I hear that BF3 is the biggest fail I'm gonna quote my last post and prove you and other people wrong.

TTG_Velocity I don't even wanna hear it. The **** graphics are better then MW3. MW3 is soo **** cartoonish and it's the same graphics from MW2. THE SAME **** ENGINE MEANS SAME **** GRAPHICS! GOT THAT? BATTLEFIELD 3 CREATED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. Now shut up cause I don't wanna hear "MW3 IS BETTER" cause your just another cod fanboy. I've been playing cod since cod4 and right now, cod is at the end of its toll but the devs won't quit, when they **** should. You can't make that game any better because it requires changing the whole entire system which the devs are too lazy to **** do.

graphics on 360 version suck ****... you fanboy **** can say 'its just a beta' but don't expect it to be any major difference from the retail, only bug fixes.

How can you say that , the engine for Bf3 is completely new and the Xbox graphics arnt to bad .

Solution play pc...
except the fact pc gaming has been ruled as an unstable platform


Pc is the most stable platform. And it will always be the most stable platform, for ANY kind of gaming. Even 20 years from now, pc will always triumph consoles.
While the PC will always be superior to consoles, the PC isn't without its own faults, like on consoles WYSIWYG, while on PC it would very slightly based on what graphics card you have for example.
