After confirming that Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is indeed the name of this year’s entry in the series yesterday, Activision and Treyarch have given us another small look at the forthcoming first-person shooter today.
Released on social media, Treyarch has let loose the official key art of Black Ops: Cold War and yep, that sure looks like Call of Duty to me. The key art is split into two halves, with the split occurring in the middle of a solider’s face. The left side of the soldier’s face is Russian, while the right side is that of an American. There are also a few other pieces of iconography that are related to each side as well.

Much like the previous trailer for Black Ops: Cold War indicated, the game will focus on the Cold War between Russia and the United States. The title is set to take place within the late 1960s and is said to be based on true events. That said, given that this is Call of Duty, after all, most of the final story that is told will surely be fictional, no matter how rooted in realism it might be.
We’ll be hearing more about Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War next week on August 26. The full reveal is set to transpire within Call of Duty: Warzone. While we still don’t know a specific launch date just yet, the game will be releasing in 2020 and will come to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
