Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Reportedly Has Switch Control Scheme

Tony Hawk could be skating his way onto Nintendo Switch if a recent leak is to be believed.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 was announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One as part of Summer Games Fest back in May. There was no mention of the game coming to Nintendo Switch. The game is just around the corner, releasing on September 4, and although there was no announcement of a release on the console, Switch fans may now have something to get excited about if a recent discovery is to be believed.

The reported leak was discovered by user Iron Hawk and shared on the THPSGOAT discord channel, before then being posted to Twitter by Darth Bellic. According to the leak, there are control schemes for the Nintendo Switch buried in the Warehouse Demo files.

These files reportedly show three different images of control schemes for a Switch version of the game. There is the Switch in handheld mode, a Pro Controller scheme and one with Joy-Cons in the grip. As with all leaks of this nature however, definitely take it with a pinch of salt until it’s officially confirmed.

The Warehouse Demo, where these files were reportedly found, went live on August 14 and is available for players who pre-order Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. It will be available until the game launches early next month.

Tony Hawk recently announced via an Instagram post that one of the signature moves in the game would be getting a name change. The move, previously known as the mute grab, has been renamed to the Weddle grab to honour the trick’s creator. Chris Weddle is a well known deaf skater and Tony Hawk stated that in him and his fellow skaters “naive youth” they decided to name it the mute grab, as Chris used to be seen as the “quiet, mute guy.” However, due to the fact that he isn’t actually mute Tony said: “it is obvious that a different name would have honored his legacy.”

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is due to launch on September 4 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Keep your eyes peeled here for any further news or announcements about the game.
