Will Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Support Cross-Play?

With 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Activision introduced cross-play to the CoD series, allowing friends to group up and play together no matter what platform they were on.

The boundaries of the console wars were broken down, letting Xbox friends team up with PS4 players and Battle.net pals alike. It set a precedent moving forward for gamers everywhere.

With the announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, many were wondering if cross-play will be back. Thankfully, Activision had an answer on the day that the game debuted.

Will Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War have cross0play?
Activision confirmed that, like Modern Warfare before it, Black Ops Cold War will feature cross-play, as well as cross-generation cross-play.

“Black Ops Cold War will feature cross generation crossplay support, with cross progression for all players to play together,” Activision said. This means that anyone playing on PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC can all play together.

Black Ops Cold War releases on Nov. 13.

Because Sony like money and adding crossplay means people might not buy a PS to play with their friends. They'd lose a sale and they don't like that. That's why Sony isn't pushing crossplay while everyone else is.


Well that's up to them on what console they'll purchase.. I don't see that as a selling point for Sony, they rely on Exclusives and overall service.
Having the freedom to connect to other players regardless of what platform you play on is a great feature that I hope becomes the standard for future mass multiplayer games.

Interesting view point


I know, bit of a controversial comment on a cheating forum.. I am more of a subtle cheater. The fact that people can go into lobbies day in and day out and blatantly head shot everyone from across the map and not receive a ban is a bit ridiculous.

Who buys a console specifically for MP games? They are never a console seller. It comes out on all platform 80% of the time.
