Over 1600 bans have so far been given out to those who cheat at Modern Warfare 3.

Infinity Ward creative strategist, Robert Bowling, released the news via Twitter. He said that the bans are a response to "Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch" the game. He also confirmed that updates to eliminate some of the glitches being exploited were in the works, and encouraged members of the community to identify offenders using the post-match report function. These reports are sent directly to Infinity Ward's security team who, Bowling said, "verify reports with in-game stats, in-game video recordings, and other data to verify you were cheating." The bans are then tailored accordingly. "Every ban [is] unique to the level of douchiness of the offense," Bowling said. "The greater the douche the greater the length. PermaDouche possible."
