This year’s Call of Duty to bring ‘meaningful genre innovations’

That Activision will release yet another Call of Duty this year will come as no surprise. But would you raise an eyebrow if they were to say that they were working on “meaningful innovations” for this year’s game?

That’s what they say.

The company is “laser-focused on raising the bar with this year’s new Call of Duty,” it was said on the company’s earnings call yesterday.

“This year we expect to further expand our presence with the launch of an all-new epic first-person shooter title under the Call of Duty brand. From what we’ve seen to date, the game already looks fantastic and will bring meaningful innovations to the franchise.”

This year’s game is rumored to be Black Ops 2, coming once more from Treyarch. Nothing official yet, of course; it’s still Modern Warfare 3‘s turn.

shadow1 No need to be angry. David Vahn from treyarch said they are working on the balancing techniques for the game. He is taking suggestions for knife and perks. So there is a chance knife can have no lunge or 2 hit kill. And there is also a chance there will only be regular perks and no pro perks along with a perk system we saw in Cod4/WaW where equipment was first perk. Hopefully he goes through with them and bring back a cod where we will have fun memories with.
The should at least put a perk in they it's a two hit knife kill. Run that with ghost and marathon. So make it in the second perk slot, where steady aim and slight of hand is.

Me and all of my friend's favorite call of duty was World at War, we had hours of fun on that game.

Who was it made by? Treyarch.

Though I did not like black ops very much it was a pretty balanced game, I could do good with about every weapon in that game.

I enjoyed COD4 and MW2, MW3 is mediocre at best.

black ops is not balanced at all the only good guns are the famas ak74 galil mp5k and commando those guns out gun any other gun...

#1 Bungie would never make a Call of Duty Game. #2 Infinity ward made the COD's that we all used to know and LOVE. Why do you think we are still buying Cods? Because Infinity Ward made Cod 1,2,3 and 4. Those were the cod's that got alot of gamers hooked. So now we keep buying them because of how much we loved them. The thing is Infinity Ward puts no effort into improving Call of Duty year after year.

They always say they're "Raising the Bar" but what Robert Bowling doesnt understand is hes throwing us a $60 Map pack with a few new guns. The game still looks the same because they use the Quake 3 engine(2004) still. They have to do something different wayyy different in order to impress people. They do the same thing every year, Same graphics with a few maps and guns. Ive had Mw3 since 2009... Oh wait thats because MW2 and MW3 are the same thing. Way to go Infinity Ward way to put no effort into that DLC you gave us back in november. :(

hahaah someone who says they wan't BUNGIE to make cod!!! Haha would have a pic of Mac miller!! Haha BUNGIE ruined halo they would ruin cod. I'm looking for call of duty zombies. If it's not that I will not be built the next cod. Well maybe if it's future warfare done by 3arc

Bungie Made Halo, Just because Reach wasn't as good as 3 doesn't mean they ruined it.


If it weren't for Bungie, Halo wouldn't be here right now. imo, Halo is better than any cod due to the fact that every single one "feels" like a new game whereas CoD is just: "Yeah, I have MW9 and it's exactly the same besides two maps and three guns"

Agreed all treyarch needs to do is made 4 or 5 new zombie maps and put all of them on one disc sell it for $40-$50 and I'd be awesome a game with nothing but zombies. Now that would sell
