Infinity Ward hiring for 'unannounced next-gen title'

Modern Warfare 3 developer Infinity Ward has started work on an unannounced game for next-gen consoles.

So reveals a job listing from the studio, which is searching for a senior network engineer for the game.
"Come work with the game industry's brightest to design and implement high level network code for an exciting unannounced title for next generation console systems," says the listing.

There are no further hints except that it's looking for a candidate that has an "interest in games, preferably first person shooters". No surprises there, then.

Given Infinity Ward and Treyarch's current turn-taking annual release cycles, Call of Duty fans will be expecting IW's next game in November 2013. This would suggest - should that cycle continue - that Activision expects Sony and/or Microsoft's next-generation consoles by the end of next year.

Good old days :( I hope they will remake call duty 4 one day, but no kill streak or crazy stuff. Just a simple and classic game.
I agree w/ you, and I'm sure other people do too, but they will complain no matter what that, "It's the same game, nothing is different" I can already see it.

why does every cod related thread have to do with "IW sucks" "Treyarc sucks" to me both of them have good and bad. Zombies is good... I like the online for black ops... MW3 has an okay online (to me anyways).

Revamped graphics that exceed anything that we have ever seen, a new game engine (Preferably something similar to Frostbite 2 considering it will be next-gen) and throw in a couple weapons/game modes.

I would pay $60 for that!
No next-ge for next generation console.

know what would be nice? if IW and 3arc combined ideas... skipped a year on making a cod (2013 wouldn't see a game for call of duty) come back in november of 2014 with an awesome finale to the series.
