Sony Opens Website Showcasing PlayStation Accessibility Features

4.1
Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched a new website dedicated to outlining the PlayStation 4 and 5’s accessibility features, as well as supported games and settings. The new website follows an industry-wide initiative to offer better accessibility to gamers with disabilities. Notably, the website features a list of games with accessibility features and allows users to browse what settings are supported within each game.

The website provides various resources for users to learn more about the accessibility settings offered on PlayStation consoles. The landing page also provides screenshots of the accessibility menu, including where players can configure their visual and audio settings. Visual accessibility settings include the Zoom magnifying feature that Sony added to the PS5 earlier this year. There are also links to some feature introduction videos for both the PS4 and PS5.

Additionally, a second tab outlines the various accessibility features available in PlayStation exclusive games. Chief among these are Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Last of Us Part II, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The aforementioned games featured a significant amount of accessibility features on launch, which users can check out via drop-down menu. These include separate categories for colorblindness, text size, audio and subtitles, input mapping, and more.

It’s important to note, however, that the website doesn’t necessarily list PlayStation games that have accessibility features. Rather, it describes what accessibility settings are available, meaning that some games may not have much to offer at all.

Regardless, the website can serve as a useful list to check out before purchasing some of these games.
