Bloomberg estimates Xbox Live to be worth $1 billion+

Given the number of users and $50-a-year subscription fee, it's hardly a surprise that Microsoft is pulling in a ton of cash from Xbox Live, but it looks like the service has recently crossed a significant milestone: the $1 billion mark. That's what Bloomberg estimates for the past fiscal year, at least, based on the number of paid users (about 12.5 million), and a recent statement from Microsoft's Dennis Durkin, who said that sales of downloadable content had topped subscription revenue for the first time. That translates to about $600 million from subscription revenue, and at least $600 million from other sales, for a grand total somewhere north of $1.2 billion. Can't really blame Sony for following its lead, can you?
Emazing-Lights Wow like if Microsoft doesn't have enough money already.
They deserve it. Bill Gates wrote his first program when he was 13 I think? I think he deserves it for his intelligence.
14,it was a traffic data system for Seattle, he sold it for one summer and made 40k on it.but customers stopped buying it when they found out how old he was.....personally i think that's just stupid.also this post is from 2 years ago,its dated 2010 july 7th.....its prob more like 3bill by now.......ps bill gates isnt the ceo of microsoft,he hasnt been for a while.he stepped down and is just a senior stockholder/consultant.hes a philanthropist and donates much.last year along he donated $21 billion, thats also why that indian guy is now the richest man because bill donates tons of it.if bill didnt he would prob be around 150-200bill.......
ahahaha more than PSN, and i hate how people say Bill Gates just wants money and hes greedy, he has saved millions of lives and donated millions of dollars to help people.
